10 Uses for a Sandisk Extreme Memory Card

The Sandisk Extreme memory card range offers a pedigree in flash memory cards, but the question is - what to do with all that extra storage? Many people use memory cards of one form or other with their phones and cameras, but they often fail to realise that the little card they’ve paid no attention to has a whole host of uses of its own. If you’re looking to get the most from your extra storage then, here are some uses you may not have considered.

Back Up - While most people use a portable hard drive or stacks and stacks of CDs to back up their data, the non-volatile solid-state nature of the flash memory card makes a Sandisk Extreme ideal for  backing up data. As they’re so small you won’t need lots of room to stack and if the information is private or sensitive they can easily be locked away or even kept on your person in a wallet for example.

Digital Photo Frames - Digital photo frames are a great idea though most people still don’t own one. The idea here is that rather than have just one still image framed, you can opt to have a digital photo frame that flicks through a selection like a slideshow. This shows guests and visitors much more about you life or your holiday and can make a great talking point or just a trip down memory lane. Highly recommended.

Netbook - Netbooks are just starting to catch on, offering considerable computing power at around 10 inches and 1 kg. Otherwise identical to an ordinary laptop (aside from the omission of a CD drive) this makes them great for being productive on the go and easy to slip into a shoulder bag or even handbag. Furthermore they’re stylish and cheap, and with a Sandisk Extreme memory card the lack of CD drive really needn’t be an issue.

Borrowing Files - Most people tend to leave their computers and memory sticks at home when they’re out and about and rightly so as they can be cumbersome and unnecessarily fill pockets. However a Sandisk Extreme memory card is small enough to fit into a shirt pocket or back pocket in the trousers with no added weight or visible bulge making them great to carry with you. That means that if you’re round a friend’s house and like a piece of music you can take it with you. Similarly you can take photos, games, pictures, videos and documents saving you time and keeping you entertained.

Keeping a portfolio - The fact that you can always have it on you also makes it great for carrying a digital portfolio of your work. If you’re a musician why not carry around a demo of your skills, or if you’re an artist why not keep a portfolio of pictures with you. This means that should you be networking, or even just commuting, and happen to strike up a lucky conversation with a hit music producer or art critique you’ll at least have some of your work to show them.

You can buy various SanDisk Extreme products from author's website. The lightening fast 8gb SanDisk Extreme can read upto 60 mb per second.

Want to buy a memory card to store pictures clicked before downloading it to my computer. Buy which one?? Did not get one with the camera, as its cost was extra. Will be buying it in Bombay (INDIA).
